What is Silicone Oil?

Silicone oil is a type of polyorganosiloxane with a chain like structure with different degrees of polymerization. It is prepared by hydrolysis of dimethyl dichlorosilane with water to obtain an initial condensed ring body. The ring body is cracked and distilled to obtain a low ring body. Then, the ring body, sealing agent, and catalyst are mixed together to obtain a mixture of different degrees of polymerization. After vacuum evaporation to remove the low boiling substance, silicone oil can be produced.

Silicone oil can be divided into methyl silicone oil, methyl silicone oil, phenyl silicone oil, methyl hydrogen silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil, methyl chlorophenyl silicone oil, methyl ethoxy silicone oil, methyl trifluoropropyl silicone oil, methyl vinyl silicone oil, methyl light silicone oil, ethyl hydrogen silicone oil, light hydrogen silicone oil, cyanide silicone oil, etc. Based on their chemical structure, they can be divided into damping silicone oil, diffusion pump silicone oil, hydraulic oil, insulation oil, heat transfer oil, etc Brake oil, etc

The most commonly used brick oil, with all organic groups being methyl, is called methyl brick oil. Organic groups can also replace some methyl groups with other organic groups to improve the performance of silicone oil and be suitable for various purposes. Common other functional groups include hydrogen, ethyl, phenyl, chlorophenyl, trifluoropropyl, etc. In recent years, organic modified brick oil has developed rapidly, and many organic modified silicone oils with unique properties have emerged.

Why is silicone oil called new material?

Silicone oil has heat resistance, electrical insulation, weather resistance, hydrophobicity, physiological inertness, and low surface tension. In addition, it also has low viscosity temperature coefficient, high compression resistance, and some varieties also have radiation resistance.

Silicone oil is actually closely related to our lives, and it is widely used in many aspects of our lives. It is not only used as a special material in aviation, cutting-edge technology, and military technology departments, but also in various sectors of the national economy. Its application scope has expanded to: construction, electronics and electrical, textiles, automobiles, machinery, leather, papermaking, chemical and light industry, metals and paints, medicine and medical treatment, and so on.
